Buddy just heard this on the Hollywood grape vine: Mariah Carey had her four dogs in the hospital with her when she gave birth to her twins. Jack Russell terriers JJ, Cha-Cha, Dolomite and Jackie Lambchop were on hand to welcome little Moroccan and Monroe Cannon into the world. Strange. But true.

Being a modern dog means Buddy has digital toys too. He’s loving the Dog Translator App for iPhone right now. He barks, his owner Iain records, and then the app translates the bark into English. The fact that most of the translations tend to be requests for treats, pats and belly rubs does makes the accuracy of this app a bit suspect.
But Buddy likes having his barks recorded and Iain thinks the translations are pretty funny. Plus, it’s free.

Buddy loves to eat real carrots, but when it comes time to really challenge his jaws, he likes to chew on his Orbee Fruit and Veggie Toys. Though they look like they came fresh from the garden, they’re super tough. All styles feature holes for stashing treats too.

Isabella Rossellini trains a puppy to be a guide dog in “Animals Distract Me,” a documentary on the cable channel Planet Green on Saturday.

Buddy just learned that the great film actress has made an hour-long documentary on her other job: guide dog trainer. Called “Animals Distract Me,” the short film will be premiering on the Planet Green channel this Saturday.
